Conferences in Attend are triggered as a result of an intervention that was sent. The conference typically represents the initial attempt by the school to meet with the parent in an effort to reduce absences. Once a student is eligible for a conference, the designated attendance staff schedules the conference, and Attend will send an invitation to the parent.
STEP 1: On the Conferences page, click the Students To Be Scheduled tab.
STEP 2: Identify the student you would like to conference and click on the ellipses under the ‘Actions’ column. Click on the Create Conference option from the dropdown menu and then click Create New Conference.
STEP 3: You will be taken to a Schedule Conference screen where you can type in the necessary conference information.
a: Enter the conference information on the Conference Details page (date, time and location are required).
- Message to Parent/Guardian: Allows you to enter a personal message that will appear on the conference notification. Do not include student-specific information in this section if using the group conferencing functionality.
Note: ANYTHING TYPED IN THIS BOX WILL APPEAR ON THE NOTIFICATION. You can leave this section blank.
b: Click the Schedule Now button.
c: A confirmation window will appear. Click the Save button to schedule the conference.
REMINDERS:
If you enter a date that is fewer than eight calendar days in the future, Attend will not send the notification via mail. The notification would not arrive in time to give the parent or guardian ample notice to make arrangements to attend the conference. There will be a DON’T SEND warning indicator displayed.
If the date is more than eight calendar days in the future, Attend will send the notification the next business day after you save the conference. There will be an IN PROGRESS indicator displayed.
